physics

With a little understanding of physics you are able to explain/solve every mechanical problem. That's why I can't wait to get into the physics program at Stanford.

PHYSICS 28 Mechanics, Heat, and Electricity 6 units Mon-Fri 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
For biology, social science, and premedical students. The sequence 28 and 29 fulfills the one-year college physics requirement with lab of most medical schools. Topics include Newtonian mechanics, fluid mechanics, theory of heat, electric charges, and currents. Calculus is used as a language and developed as needed. Prerequisite: Working knowledge of elementary algebra and trigonometry.

PHYSICS 29 Electricity and Magnetism, Optics, Modern Physics 6 units Mon-Fri 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Magnetism, induced currents; wave motion, optics; relativity, quantum mechanics, atomic theory, radioactivity, nuclear structure and reactions, elementary particles, astrophysics, and cosmology. Prerequisite: PHYSICS 28.
